Cait Mccarthy
Cait McCarthy is an American filmmaker from New Canaan, Connecticut. Having been inspired by the stories film provides for most of her life, she found a passion for this medium to tell stories of her own — ones that aim to challenge the preexisting standards of the film industry. She wants people to feel moved in the same way that she has. More recently, she worked with the United States Coast Guard Academy to produce a series of short promotional videos to engage alumni recognition and donation. However, her recent abroad experience at FAMU International in Prague, Czech Republic, created new inspiration, where she stepped out of her writing nook and challenged herself to co-write and co-direct her short film ‘How We Remember.’ This film has been featured and received awards and accolades at US and UK film festivals. In Prague, she discovered her voice and unique perspective and plans to follow her passion for directing feature films. In the coming years, Cait hopes to find creative opportunities to utilize her artistic eye to craft cinematically cutting-edge stories; to challenge current-day film as we know it. Cait earned her Bachelor in the Arts from Connecticut College in New London, CT. She majored in Film studies and earned a minor in Art and Media, Rhetoric, & Communication. Currently, she holds a position with NBCUniversal as a Production Assistant on The Steve Wilkos Show.
